"Where people live close to nature, it is known that the knife is the most important tool that one carries in the mountains, in the forest and in the countryside: A really good knife becomes a constant companion and accompanies you throughout your life.

In Karesuando we make knives that are adapted to our nature with its harsh arctic climate, northern lights and midnight sun.
We manufacture genuine products, shaped by centuries-old artisanal traditions and natural raw materials. An exceptional craft.
It is from our origins and our traditions that we derive our dynamism and inspiration.

Our knives are crafted with over 40 years of design experience. Our product team, with their knife-making experience, has produced over 200,000 knives and an additional over 1 million individual blades. That's years and years of working with and learning about materials, trying out different designs, and figuring out why things work or don't work.
Our company is now more than 40 years old. We are who we are and we do what we do; many people love that, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Karesuandokniven AB was founded in 1975 and is known worldwide for its handcrafted hunting knives, blades, axes, and Lapland-inspired crafts. The company has its production site in the tiny village of Karesuando in Lapland, in the far north of Sweden, and has a population of around 300.

The village of Karesuando lies 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, at the same latitude as central Greenland and the northernmost parts of Canada. The village was first permanently settled in 1670. Reindeer herding is one of the region's largest industries, and Karesuando is located in the reindeer herding area of the Könkämä Sami village.

For its first three decades, the company was supported by the government to keep Lapland's ancient craft traditions alive. It has been privately owned since 2004.
