'Made in Finland' has been at the core of Miiko Design Oy from the very beginning. The stark, beautiful Finnish nature serves as an endless source of inspiration and a place from which the team draws energy and motifs for all its products. Most of the materials used also come from Finnish nature. The appreciation and respect for nature are reflected in everything; Finnish design has always stood for clarity, functionality, and high quality. Miiko Design Oy embraces and continues this tradition.

The company is committed to finding and commissioning qualified Finnish manufacturers. It is proud to offer work and jobs in Finland, and the collection has been awarded both the Avainlippu and Design from Finland labels.

And this is what the siblings behind the company write about themselves:
"Our passion for entrepreneurship and designing innovative and ecological products dates back to early childhood. Our grandfather started his career as a market trader and later expanded his business into a shoe store. Our father followed the same path. We were able to be a part of this story because we spent a lot of time there at a young age and later worked in the shop. We were exposed to high-quality materials and design from an early age, and good customer service was never neglected. Our father passed away at a young age, leaving behind a legacy of customer appreciation, strong confidence, and the courage to do our own thing. We siblings shared a strong bond and a desire to create something of our own. This desire ultimately led to the founding of Miiko.
Handcraft, bubbling creativity, and a passion for design have accompanied our designer, Miiko's founder Sanna, from childhood to the present. Her master's degree in art gave her a broad knowledge of materials for design work, and a degree in entrepreneurship at Aalto University led to the beginning of creating her own collection. In the first few years, three more siblings joined her one after the other. From the very beginning, each played an important role in Miiko's team.
