Sweden's west coast

NDR: The islands off Sweden's west coast look as if they were randomly thrown into the sea by a giant hand. The coast from Gothenburg to the Norwegian border is one of Sweden's most impressive landscapes. Sailors appreciate the area for its many small bays and fjords where one can safely drop anchor. Nature enthusiasts love the unusual rock formations that give the western archipelago a very special atmosphere. The coast is barren, and forests are rare near the sea.
