Guido's Scandinavian adventure took him through Denmark, Sweden, and Finland by road bike. From Flensburg, he cycled through the islands of Funen, Langeland, Lolland, Falster, and Zealand to Copenhagen and Malmö. From there, he continued along the Baltic coast through the provinces of Skåne, Blekinge, Kalmar, Östergötland, Södermanland, Stockholm, Uppsala, Gävleborg, and Västernorrland, to Umeå in northern Sweden. Following the crossing to Vaasa in Finland, he rode along the Gulf of Bothnia to Kristinestad, Pori, Rauma, Turku, and on to his destination in Helsinki.

He encountered people living peacefully together in harmony with nature, where he was always welcome. He saw the vast fields, the archipelago landscapes, and wild forests. The small and large towns offered a wealth of culture and ideal accommodations, from hostels to secluded cabins. Bays, rivers, and hills provided the most photo opportunities, as did, of course, the capital cities. Riding fast and light, he managed an average of 120 km per day, finding a good balance between the sporting challenge and the adventure of getting to know the country and its people.
