Novel from Norwegian
By Maja Lunde
Translated from Norwegian by Ursel Allenstein

320 pages. Hardcover with ribbon bookmark. 14 x 21 cm.

On an ordinary day in early June in Norway, time stands still. No one dies, no one is born. The new eternity changes people's attitudes toward life:
Pensioner Margo wants to celebrate life and travel – but her plant-loving husband Otto doesn't want to leave his balcony flowers alone.
For photographer Jenny, there's nothing better than spending the time she's been given with her family at their summer house. Nevertheless, she's plagued by the feeling that she's missing out on something important.
And nurse Eva experiences the worry of pregnant women who don't know when their babies will be born.

People all over the country are puzzling over why people have fallen out of the cycle of time. Is it a virus, an ancient spell, or a conspiracy of evil forces? And why does the cycle of growth and decay continue unabated in nature?

In her major new novel, Maja Lunde writes sensitively and with warmth about living in the now, our own finiteness and our connection to nature.
