Known as guest authors of MAGIC OF THE NORTH and as authors of the cookbook “Delicious Island,” Ursula and Markus Jäger have realized a new book project.
“Delicious Iceland at Christmas” is not just a cookbook, but rather a very interesting book about the traditions and customs associated with Icelandic Christmas.
Anyone who reads this book carefully will not only discover many delicious recipes, but will also learn, among other things, what the 13 Santa Clauses are all about, why the time before Christmas is also known as the flood of Christmas books, and why it is worth buying New Year's Eve fireworks.
Since her first trip to Iceland in 2004, author Ursula Jäger has been in love with this wild country in the far north – and she's especially passionate about Icelandic cuisine. Since there were hardly any Icelandic recipes available in German at the time, she began collecting them herself. She now also speaks the local language so she can read and understand recipes.
Since 2014, she has been presenting Icelandic recipes on her blog “Iceland Fan Cookbook” to share her love of Icelandic cuisine and to introduce her readers to the culinary traditions of this country between fire and ice.
The author lives with her family near Frankfurt am Main and, since 2020, also in Iceland for several months a year.
