Swedish Lapland - Welcome to the kingdom of the reindeer!

In northern Sweden, it is the reindeer whose needs determine not four, but eight seasons of the Sami calendar. Seasons that the indigenous people of Northern Europe associate with the sometimes small, sometimes large changes in nature. This nature includes, among other things, four national parks that are UNESCO World Heritage sites, several long-distance hiking trails, countless lakes, rivers and rapids. But it is also the light of Lapland that captivates its visitors - from the midnight sun in summer to the northern lights dancing across the sky in the snowy winter fairytale world. Travel Moments Swedish Lapland presents 50 well-known and lesser-known attractions in the far north of Sweden, from animal adventures to natural paradises for outdoor enthusiasts or connoisseurs, but also cultural and culinary highlights. From the coast to the mountains on the Norwegian border, across all eight seasons!

Bernadette Olderdissen is a story collector with a passion for writing, travel, and nature. In 2017, she became a freelance travel journalist and author. Her reports are published in various media outlets, and she also writes books about travel and nature experiences.
Since a year of book research in Swedish Lapland in 2022, her life has taken place between her two adopted homes: the two-million-strong city of Hamburg and the 200-person village of Båtskärsnäs in northern Sweden , where she offers nature-focused tours for several months of the year.
