Christmas in Sweden
Astrid Lindgren's stories have shaped our dreams of Christmas, and the festive meal always plays an important role in them.
In this beautifully illustrated and photographic cookbook, the Christmas season begins with the children of Bullerby baking gingerbread, and then we follow Lindgren's beloved characters and their own traditions through the holidays until Pippi Longstocking brings the festivities to a close by raiding the Christmas tree.
We learn the recipes for classic Christmas dishes and sweets and how the celebrations were held in Småland, at Katthult, in Bullerbü and Junibacken, but above all at the Näs farm, where Lindgren spent her childhood.
This is what my Christmas tastes like.
