Off to the hyggelig land of the Nisse
Reading age 6 - 12 years
By Steffi Bieber-Geske and Karolina Zolubak

128 pages with 77 color illustrations and 25 photos. Paperback. 16 x 21 cm.

Denmark for kids is a travel guide for children that answers all the hows and wherefores of young travelers to the neighboring country.
What Nisse are and why a bowl of porridge is placed in front of their little door, how one manages to stand with one foot in the Baltic Sea and the other in the North Sea and who Hans Christian Andersen was - children learn all this in the travel guide.
The book also covers what children in Denmark like to eat, what the country looks like, and exciting stories from the past. It's a comprehensive guide for anyone who wants to learn more about the country during their trip to Denmark.
Written in a truly child-friendly way, colorfully illustrated, with coloring pages and puzzles, and in a practical and sturdy format so that the book can survive a trip even in a child's backpack.

Steffi Bieber-Geske normally writes and publishes holiday adventure stories for her own publishing house. Taking over the travel guide "Denmark for Kids" was nevertheless a matter of honor for her, as she has lived primarily in the land of hygge since 2021 and is interested in everything about her new home.
She and her family commute between an old house in Sønderborg on the Baltic Sea in southern Denmark and an old house on the outskirts of Berlin. What she particularly loves about Denmark is its friendly people, relaxed lifestyle, fresh air, and the sea.

Karolina Zolubak loves illustrating as much as traveling. Her best travel buddy is her young son, so illustrating children's travel guides was a natural fit for her. Her main character, Mimi, now helps her explore the world. Karolina is happiest when her illustrations can do good in the world, and over the past few years she has worked for many NGOs and magazines that promote environmental protection, inclusion, and diversity. In addition to these commissioned works, Karolina publishes her own illustrated books.
