How I experienced the eight seasons in northern Sweden
By Bernadette Olderdissen
256 pages with 55 color illustrations, eight illustrations, and one color map. Paperback. 21 cm.
Experience the Nordic seasons up close
Author and journalist Bernadette Olderdissen fulfills her dream of nature and wilderness with an experiment in Swedish Lapland:
As a resident of a village of 200 people on the Arctic Circle, she wants to experience the eight seasons of the Sami calendar for a year.
Escape from the city to a slower life
In January, she is welcomed by the frozen sea and snowy forests, by darkness and the northern lights. Her new neighbors help her adjust to her new surroundings – and recognize the first signs of spring. And as the light grows brighter and the air warmer, Lapland's nature gives Bernadette life lessons she never expected.

"A wonderful book about dreams lived out. Instructive, but never didactic, thoughtful, but also self-ironic, and above all, full of life." Backnanger Kreiszeitung
