Cooking and baking like in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland
By Michaela Fuchs
160 pages fully illustrated in color. Hardcover. 17 x 23 cm.
Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway rank at the top of the list when it comes to where the happiest people in the world live. While Denmark isn't strictly speaking part of Scandinavia, thanks to linguistic, cultural, and mentality-related similarities, Danes are truly Scandinavian: Feeling at home and relaxing in convivial company over simple, good food – these are the key ingredients of the Nordic way of life. Here, people enjoy regional, traditional, and no-nonsense food.
Scandinavian cuisine scores with good ingredients, simple preparation and pure taste.
Come with us on a culinary tour and discover Nordic festivals and customs as well as sweet, savory and drinkable delicacies from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
The richly illustrated book offers plenty of recipes to try out - from Danish smörrebröd, Finnish oven pancakes, Swedish meatballs and Norwegian skrei to dream cakes, princess cakes, raspberry tarts and cinnamon rolls...
Michaela Fuchs (born 1974) studied communication design and has worked for renowned agencies and publishing houses for over twenty years. With a passion for editorial design, she primarily conceives and designs magazines, always on the lookout for captivating stories, interesting people, and fascinating images.
In addition to her work as a freelance graphic designer, she uses her talent for writing and photography to report on Northern Europe, Nordic cuisine, and her love of the Scandinavian lifestyle in magazines. Inspired by Astrid Lindgren's wise words: "Freedom means not having to do everything the same way other people do," Michaela Fuchs occasionally swaps Munich city life for rural life at the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland. Here, she not only recharges her batteries but also uses it as a studio to bring creative ideas and stories to life.
