novel
A winter love at the Arctic Circle, filled with the magic of the Northern Lights
By Anna Lindqvist

416 pages. Paperback.

This is not only a great novel, but also a wonderful description of the customs and traditions of wintery Lapland.

Lilje is sent to Jokkmokk in the far north of Sweden to report on the traditional Sámi winter market for a tourism company's online magazine. Upon arrival, however, she encounters a nasty surprise: the hotel is overbooked, and Lilje has to share a room with Juha. Juha grew up as the son of a reindeer herder and lives as a scientist in Stockholm. While showing Lilje the breathtaking beauty of snowy Lapland, the two grow closer.
But then Lilje learns that Juha has been hiding something from her. Could the magic of the polar night bring them together after all?

Look inside the book

Anna Lindqvist loves glistening snow, sparse forests, and the graceful gait of reindeer in autumn. She grew up surrounded by books, drinks her coffee with cheese according to Sami tradition, grills sausages in the sauna, and likes to avoid housework.
When Anna isn't weaving romantic stories with her husband Lauri, she enjoys spending her free time reading, dog dancing, and eating ice cream.
In her novel “Magic Lights in Sweden,” Anna Lindqvist combines her love of nature with an unshakable belief in a happy ending.
