Dr. Thomas Kliem (born 1965) studied geography and sports science and holds a doctorate in leisure and tourism geography. After completing his studies, completing his doctorate, and teaching at the Gerhard Mercator University in Duisburg, he now works as a freelance journalist for numerous print media outlets and public television. His contributions focus on travel reports with destinations in Europe, as well as articles on the topics of "traveling by motorhome" and "sailing." He owns a photo agency in Kalkar (www.thomas-kliem.de) and operates the website www.reisemobil-routen.de. His preferred form of travel is vacationing by motorhome or sailboat.
