From Snow White's coffin to the electric age
By Notker Hilbrenner

208 pages with more than 200 illustrations. Hardcover. 21 x 24 cm.

The Swedish company Volvo is an old hand in the car business; the Scandinavians manufactured their first passenger cars as early as 1927.
But it wasn't until after the Second World War that the Gothenburg-based company achieved its international breakthrough with its "humpbacked Volvo," the PV444. Starting with the ÖV4 and PV4, the P1800ES sports station wagon known in Germany as the "Snow White Coffin," and the legendary 240 and 850 models, as well as the groundbreaking EX30 and EX90 electric models and the Polestar joint venture, Volvo enthusiast Notker Hilbrenner has compiled the history of all Volvo car models that have rolled off the production line since the company's beginnings.

- Of Amazons, humpback Volvos and Snow White coffins
- Volvo cars since 1927 to the electric age - with EX30, EX90 and Polestar
- Competent and comprehensive overview of all series

Notker Hilbrenner 's passion for the Volvo brand began in the classic way, with the humpbacked Volvo PV544. What was initially just a hobby for the business graduate gradually developed into a busy sideline. He chaired the Volvo Club Germany for eight years and maintained close contacts with the parent company in Gothenburg. Even after this time, he remains an active contributor to the club magazine. His reports are frequently published by international club magazines and the classic car press. Completely independent of brands, he also occasionally appears in model car magazines and supports other authors with his extensive archived material.
