Interesting and surprising facts about Scandinavia
For Beate Balz, the theme of well-being runs like a thread through her entire life. Even as a child, she decorated her nursery and constantly rearranged the furniture. As a young adult, she was captivated by cozy Swedish houses, so much so that in the early 2000s she moved into her own small wooden house. Today, the Berlin native lives with her husband and two sons in her second Scandinavian wooden house just outside Berlin. On both her Instagram channel and her website, she shows how to feel good in your home, in your garden, and with yourself. The Spiegel bestselling author has also turned her passion for Scandinavia into her profession, planning and selling Scandinavian wooden houses and occasionally appearing as a speaker. With her company, Miss Feelgood, she helps people create a feel-good home for themselves, which Beate Balz particularly associates with the Scandinavian hygge lifestyle.
Sebastian Streich lives in the Berlin suburbs with his wife Andrea, their two children, and their dachshund Milli. He is a day-care teacher and finds his private balance in his large garden, which he has transformed into a wellness oasis with great passion and dedication over the years. Together with his wife Andrea, he runs an Instagram channel where he shares the garden's development, decorating ideas, DIY projects, and recipes with his followers.
Andrea Schliep lives in the Berlin suburbs with her husband Sebastian, their two children, and their dachshund, Milli. She is a computer scientist and blogger. Since 2016, she and her husband Sebastian have shared their garden's development, decorating ideas, DIYs, and recipes on their joint Instagram channel.
